Journey Beyond Recovery!
Our Mission
Travelogion is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering assisted overseas travel adventures to brain tumor and cancer patients post-treatment. Successful treatment is just the beginning of the journey. Those who have been there know that after treatment comes a difficult period, and anxiety, depression and a lost sense of meaning follow. We are rushed back to accept the new normal, and we don’t have enough time to integrate the negative experience. Travelogion’s post-treatment programs are designed in the hope that the physical, emotional and spiritual benefits of these trips will help to speed patients’ recovery and enhance their quality of life.
Why post-treatment travel program?
“We need something to fill the gap, something to make us move on with our lives from being patients to becoming survivors. There is a flaw with our health care system and patients who have been through treatment are rushed back to the “new normal” too quickly.”
Bridge the Gap
Patients need something to fill the void and help them get through the post-treatment symptoms of anxiety, depression, and lost sense of purpose. They need help to cross over and move on with their lives. That's why Travelogion is so necessary. We see it as a bridge, here to help people transition from their former lives to their new ones.
Community & Support
A lot of patients are overwhelmed with the negative experience of diagnosis and treatment. They are too anxious to organize and undertake trips like these without support. That's why Travelogion is so necessary! We’re here to help them do that, but we hope that in time these travel opportunities will give them strength and help them to grow, building and evolving their skills as leaders and survivors.
